my man in the woods vs. Jerry Springer throw-down

So today the hubbles and I took a lovely walk in the park. It's this hiking and biking trail that winds around for miles and miles, up hills and down into stream beds. Quite lovely. Anyway, we had a bit of a "tiff," I suppose you'd call it. He said something that bothered me based on my background, but didn't know it until I kinda went off on him. Poor dear. My bad. 0_o
Anyhoots. But we resolved it fairly quickly and easily. I mean, we know to give each other some space to cool off when one or both of us gets upset.
But that got me thinking. Not everyone resolves things quite so easily, i.e. my friend and her ((now)) exe.
When we got home, I jumped on facebook (I know, I know, the demon media of our generation) and saw that a friend of mine had gone from "engaged" to "single." This surprised me not a little since they had been dating for a year or two and - last I heard - were doing great. So I commented " wtf happened?" To which both parties at odds commented. Vehemently. I mean, slightly cattish. Absolutely going at it. On facebook. In front of all their friends and family. Which I consider tantamount to a fully public, Jerry Springer-style throw down.
Granted, a lot has to do with temperament. Nathan and I know each other fairly well. We know ourselves fairly well, too. We both know that we have foul tempers which flair quickly and easily. But we also know that we love each other too much to hurt one another. However, if we stay confined to try to talk something out, sometimes, it just would get too ugly and we would end up saying some pretty poisonous things. Maybe my friends' argument was really deep and heavy. Maybe it's just a little fight that could be resolved if they just stepped back instead of getting in each others' faces. I don't know. Not my place to say. I'm just saying, yet again, I am very grateful for my man.
