Wedding plans

More than one week ago now, I got engaged to one of the best men I have ever known in my life. It was really sweet. We were up in Michigan, visiting my family. He went down on one knee in front of everyone (which I still hold was a bit too embarrassing for me). It was really sweet. Anyway, so now I get the fun job of planning the wedding. We really, really want to do it at the Renaissance Festival in Michigan, but there is no way we could afford it on our own. We could take out a loan, sure - which is what I understand most people do - if the Guard were paying Nathan on time. But they haven't paid him in, like, three months, now. (No way to treat a war veteran, in my humble opinion.) So we have to figure all that out before we can even take out a loan to reserve the place so I can continue planning.
Whew!

I never thought it would be so much to think about! (O.k....I did...I watched Bridezilla's religiously when we had cable. lol) Everything seems so much harder when you know how little money you actually have in the old bank account. But that's ok. That's what being young is all about, right? Especially when you're still a student.

Hell, all this, and I still don't even have the ring! :)

P.S. He had the ring, but the first time it was the wrong size, when it came back a week later it was missing a diamond. It was suppose to be back the Wednesday before the September 11th weekend (he proposed Sunday without it), but they still haven't found it. Yes. That's right. Found it. Oh good, you noticed my use of the word! Yes, when last inquired of, the people at the jeweler's shop said - and I quote - "We're still looking for it." They think it got shipped to another store. I can't wait to wear it and show it off, though, as vapid and girlie as that sounds. It's an absolutely beautiful ring! He showed me pictures.
