FINALLY
The wedding date has been set!
September 10th, 2011 at Luthy Botanical Gardens (a morning wedding). I mailed off the payment to reserve the date and time this morning. When I got off the phone with Luthy, I was grinning like a goon all day.
Now we just have to figure out where to have the reception.
And get a minister.
Dad was adamant that we should join a church and have that pastor come out and do it. He said "what better way to start a family than join a church?" I wanted to remind him that when he got married, not only was he not a member of a church, but not even attending. I didn't, however. I still really like the idea of our friend Chris getting ordained so he could do our wedding. We'll see.
So things are chugging along at a break-neck pace and I have less than a year to get used to being called "Mrs. Roush" or "Emily Roush" or "Mrs. Emily Roush." It sounds good, but it looks so foreign. Like it's my name, but it's been disconnected from my identity. Maybe I just can't see the person I'm going to grow into after this shift takes place? Either way, I'm very excited, and very nervous. But would you expect anything else from a first-time bride?
