Hola Bloggesphere peoples!
How art thou? Are you melted, yet? We've been having some record breaking heat here in Illinois. It's been between 95-105 for the past week. I, for one, have had enough, and am anticipating the storms we're supposed to get tomorrow night which will bring 80 degree weather in its wake. 80 degrees! I might have to dig out a sweater. ;)
Well, It's that time of year, again. My birthday is tomorrow. Good ole' 2-3. I have a wonderful day planned. Breakfast and shopping with Mumsy; lunch with the Ginge, Mumsy, and the kids (hers, not ours; I don't think Olive Garden would approve of three cats and a ginormous dog at the table); and to top it all off (if we have the energy) maybe a birthday pint at Kelleher's pub. I can't wait! :)
I thought, perhaps, I would recount all my blessings in this post - how grateful I am for such a wonderful family, a loving husband, food in my belly, a roof over my head, etc. etc. - but then I realized that all my blessings listed could very well break the entire internet. I have been very loved and very lucky and very, very blessed in my life. I am so thankful for every day I am granted, and try my best not to forget it. (Birthdays kind of highlight it, too.)
Tonight, we're heading out to a cookout at our friend's house (who, thankfully - whoops! Lookit that, yet another thing to be thankful for! - just moved closer to us; it's the difference between 45 minutes and 15). It should be a lot of fun. We went floating down the Mackinaw, again, on the 4th of July (because I just don't learn), and - what do you know - I got burnt, again. This time, it was everywhere but my legs. Haaaa...the irony...
What are your weekend plans? How do you stay cool in the summer swelter? However you do, I hope you do; and do so well!
