Stress

Stress has become a part of life. Not just for me. For everyone, especially in Western culture. As B.K.S. Iyengar points out in his book, Light on Life, "There is nothing in this world free from stress until death. Rather than asking 'Can I be completely free from stress?' we must ask, 'What is the degree of stress?'" ..."In short, our aim is to be able to deal with stress as and when it arises, and not to imprint and accumulate it in the body's various systems, including both conscious and unconscious memory."
Iyengar goes on to state that the key to calm is to strengthen and support the nervous system. What better way to do that than by relaxing the nervous system through yoga?
I think this will be my new favourite non-fiction read!
