Triple Grande Bullshit

Why is it we proudly scorn the latte drinks? Why is it we look down on those fancy-schmancy espresso drinks with half-fat soy shaken-not-stirred finikiness? And yet, first chance we get, we do not order straight black coffee, no; we order a tall mocha or caramel latte. Is this not strange? Would it have something to do with the perceived status in the company we keep? Does it have something to do with self-sabotaging of our own ideals? Or are we really only trying to impress ourselves by degrading a subject so thoroughly and with wonderful show of conviction?
Just something to ponder.
I'm going to go take a coffee-shit.
