Happy Monday, one and all!
Did you have an exciting weekend? I know we did!
On Friday, I went shopping after work with my mum and sister. It was such fun! I love girl time. Plus, my sister and I got to discuss a little more on the tattoo she's designing for me. Her work is really amazing! You can check her stuff out here.
On Saturday, the Ginge and I hit up the Old English Faire in Peoria. Not as awesome as the one we attend every year in Holly, Michigan, but it was still a pretty fair Faire. (Oh, the puns...)
Here's the archery competition we stopped and watched:
After that, we walked about for a bit, then we decided to go down into the actual park in which the faire is held. It's a state park with neat animals like bison and elk, etc. Nate got a bit "horny" (wah-wah-waaaaaah).
And I saw this little miniature horse statue. Isn't it the cutest? I just had to take a picture. Unfortunately, I hadn't the wherewithall to take any interesting pictures of things like the bellydancers or the bison.
It was oppressively hot this weekend, but Saturday night brought a goodish little storm rolling in. There were tornado warnings and 60 mile/hour winds. It wasn't pleasant. And I, to say the very least, was freaked out. We ended up packing the kids into my care and heading over to Grandma Lydia's house to wait out the weather in a house with a basement. Poor Nate; he was in the middle of a video game with all his friends when I decided I had had enough, and we were all surely going to perish if we were to stay put. He's such a good sport.
Sunday was a nice, leisurely day, spent lying about and relaxing. We caught some brunch/early dinner with the Roushes at the little mexican restaurant down the road. It was our father's day celebration. Then we headed off to hockey! The Ginge is getting better and better each week; I'm so very proud of him!
What did you do this weekend? Were you able to stay out of the heat?
